The opening ceremony of the XI International Platonov Arts Festival will be held on June 5th at 6 p.m. before the showing of the performance "The Marriage of Figaro" staged by Mikhail Bychkov. The opera, the premiere of which is being prepared at the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre, is included in the Voronezh Case festival programme.
"The Marriage of Figaro", based on the famous play by Beaumarchais, is one of the most sought-after works on the world stage. Performances based on Mozart's opera are included in the repertoire of the Mariinsky, Mikhailovsky and other theatres.
The conductor-producer of the performance is the chief conductor of the Moscow Academic Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko music theatre, the People’s Artist of Russia Felix Korobov. The set design of the opera is created by the laureate of the "Golden Mask" Award Alexey Votyakov — the chief designer of the Magnitogorsk Pushkin Drama Theatre. A video artist Alexey Bychkov, a lighting designer — the laureate of the "Golden Mask" Award — Ivan Vinogradov, a choirmaster Olga Shcherban are also in the group of authors.
