The Jubilee Platonov Festival opened with two large-scale exhibitions dedicated to the Russian avant-garde of the 20th century: "Alexander Drevin and Nadezhda Udaltsova. Paintings and graphic arts" and "Mikhail Prekhner. Photo avant-garde of the 1930s". The opening took place at the Voronezh State Art Museum named after Kramskoy.
"Today we are opening the exhibition programme, ahead of us there are two weeks of incredible emotions, incredible sensations, wonderful performances are awaiting you. I want to thank you for knowing and believing that everything will work out, and we will start the 10th Platonov Festival," said Maria Mazur, head of the Department of Culture of the Voronezh Region.
The artistic director of the festival, Mikhail Bychkov, emphasized that the circumstances of 2020 did not change the team's determination, readiness and desire to hold the forum.
"The festival will be interesting, varied, bright and, most importantly, will remain in our biography. Because for tens of thousands of Voronezh residents, for many Russians who come to us from other regions, this time has become a part of the necessary inner spiritual intellectual holiday. The festival will take place thanks to the firm position of the regional authorities and personally the governor Alexander Gusev, who did not doubt that it should be held for the city, for you. And this moment has come," Mikhail Bychkov noted.
