Spectators of the Platonov Arts Festival will be presented with "Brothers Karamazov" by Lev Dodin

In the spring of 2021, the main programme of the Platonov Arts Festival was preceded by the tour of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. This special project has become a historic event in the cultural life of Voronezh. We have decided to continue holding preview events. Projects that precede the main festival programme are a common practice of European festivals. This, on the one hand, makes the conditions for organising tours more flexible, and on the other hand, gives the audience the opportunity to enjoy the anticipation of the main part of the forum. The high level of pre-events sets very high standards for the entire festival programme.

This year, the performance "Brothers Karamazov" by Lev Dodin will be a special event of the Platonov Arts Festival. The production was included in the programme of the XI Platonov Arts Festival, but the showings scheduled for 2021 did not take place due to the artist’s illness. The Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe then promised to return to Voronezh in 2022. We are pleased to announce that the audience of the festival will be able to see "Brothers Karamazov" on April 28th, 29th and 30th. Part of the tickets will be given to Voronezh doctors who are currently fighting COVID-19 in the "red zone". This is a joint decision of the theatre and the directorate of the festival.

"Brothers Karamazov" became one of the 10 best performances of 2020 according to the Theatre Critics Association, and the media called it one of the most long-awaited premieres of the recent years. The production was nominated for the Golden Mask-2022 award in seven categories.

It will be possible to purchase tickets to the performance "Brothers Karamazov" from February 25th on the website platonovfest.com, at the festival ticket offices, as well as at the ticket offices and on the website of the ticket operator of the festival – kassir.ru.
