Today, on April 22nd, the directorate of the Platonov Arts Festival has received the top-level government telegramme from the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Alexey Gordeyev. He congratulated the festival team and the staff of the Chamber Theatre on receiving the "Golden Mask" award for the theatre performance event "New Land".

The troupe also successfully presented the performance "The Raft of the Medusa" choreographed by Pavel Glukhov, who won the "Golden Mask" in the nomination "Best Choreographer". The site-specific theatre performance event "New Land" is a project of the Platonov Arts Festival, staged by choreographer Anna Shchekleina, featuring the dance troupe of the Voronezh Chamber Theatre. The production was included in the Platonov-2021 cycle, which brought together theatre performance events associated with the works or the personality of the writer. In addition to "New Land", nine performances from Moscow, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg and Voronezh were among the "Golden Mask" nominees in the category "contemporary dance".
The Russian National Theatre Award "Golden Mask" was established in 1993 by the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation. It is awarded to performances of all genres of theatrical art: drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta and musical, puppet theatre.
